At Moodswingz, we embody what we call the “Surfboard Mentality,” symbolizing our belief that Hip Hop culture drives global trends—it’s the wave everyone rides. Like skilled surfers navigating the ocean, we recognize and harness the culture’s influential power in music, fashion, and technology. By riding this wave, we aim to stay ahead of trends, set new standards, and push boundaries. Our mission is to celebrate, empower, and amplify lesser-known cultural contributors, ensuring our community continues to lead and innovate.
OUR STORY
It all started with a deep love for music that has the power change minds and moods—hence the name. Moodswingz Muzik has been the imprint for Mitchell ‘Abyss’ McCain’s production imprint since the early 2000’s. Back in 2019, Michael ‘Mikey Mo’ Carter, an old label mate and friend, introduced Abyss to crypto, which led the two on a journey to discover where music and blockchain technology would intersect.
Over the following years, the duo would do extensive research by partnering with projects, becoming ambassadors and releasing music on various blockchain music platforms. Gradually Moodswingz the production company morphed into a comprehensive media and consulting group, contributing to the development of NEWM.io and currently acting as their Artist Relations Management team.
As for the technology, we’ve already made waves with our projects, like producing the first-ever Stream Token song on the Cardano blockchain with MURS “Bigger Dreams” and selling out our single ‘Lost in My Own Zone’ in 36 hours earning the equivalent of one million streams with only 65 supporters.
Although it’s still early, there are huge opportunities for independent artists to take advantage of in blockchain music, and we’ve made it our mission to help the culture transition on chain. To do so, we offer production, graphic design, marketing and consultation services. We understand that artists wear lots of hats and aren’t always well versed in them all.
